Create a repeat schedule with the intended customer, amount, dates, and delivery choice.

1. Start the recurring invoice

Open Invoicing → Recurring and choose New Recurring Invoice. Choose a template if your business has no default design.

2. Set the starting schedule

In the schedule dialog, review Issue Date and First Invoice on Issue Date. Choose How Often, When to Send, and ongoing billing or the agreed number of invoices. An existing schedule instead shows Next Invoice Date.

New Recurring Invoice starts with Issue Date, First Invoice on Issue Date and the repeat schedule.

3. Choose charge and delivery

In New Recurring Invoice, choose Manual or Automatic under Charge Type. For Manual, choose Send Invoice Automatically or Create Drafts to Send Manually under Delivery Options. Review Status → Automatically Mark as Paid separately: when enabled, each invoice is recorded as paid and is not emailed; no money is collected. Automatic needs a connected subscription gateway and the customer’s approval.

The new dialog separates Charge Type, Delivery Options and Automatically Mark as Paid.

4. Continue to the editor

Choose Continue. In the invoice editor, select the customer and enter the items, quantities, prices, currency and tax. For Manual, open Make Recurring to review the schedule. For Automatic, open Make Subscription to review the available subscription settings.

For a manual recurring invoice, Make Recurring shows the existing schedule beside the invoice.

5. Save and check the next date

Save the recurring invoice, then return to Recurring. Check its status, customer, total and next date. Review generated invoices separately; a schedule prepared by AI Assistant starts paused.
