Keep purchase costs connected to the project before comparing them with customer revenue.

1. Set up the project

Create the customer project with the agreed billing method and budgets. Check its customer and currency.

2. Record the purchase

Use a purchase order and bill for supplier purchases, or an expense for a direct paid cost. Choose the project when the form offers it. Do not record the same cost both ways.

3. Review project costs

In the project, open Expenses and check the actual amounts, currency, and any billable choice.

4. Review the revenue and profit

Use the project’s related invoices and Profitability view if your role permits it. Compare the same period and distinguish internal hourly cost from the rate charged to the client.

Project Overview groups project details, hours, team, and related billing information.

5. Prepare customer billing

Select only eligible unbilled expenses and work in the invoice wizard. Check any markup and the final draft before sending.
