Manually creating and managing projects can be time-consuming, especially when dealing with multiple clients, billing methods, and team members. Invoice Crowd's project creation feature streamlines this process by providing a structured way to set up and organize your projects.

With the project creation feature, you can:

  • Set up different billing methods tailored to client needs
  • Configure budgets and track costs
  • Manage team assignments
  • Track time and tasks efficiently

Steps to Create a New Project

1. Navigate to the Projects Section

  • Go to the Worklog menu in Invoice Crowd.
  • Select the Projects tab.
  • Click the + New Project button.

2. Enter Basic Project Details

  • Project Name: Provide a clear and identifiable name for your project.
  • Description (Optional): Add any additional context or details.
  • Customer: Select the customer associated with this project from the dropdown.

3. Configure Billing Method

Choose one of the following billing methods based on the project’s requirements:

  • Fixed Cost for Project: Set a flat rate for the entire project.
  • Based on Project Hours: Bill based on the total hours logged for the project.
  • Based on Task Hours: Bill for the hours spent on individual tasks.
  • Based on Staff Hours: Bill for the hours logged by each staff member.

4. Set Budget Information

  • Cost Budget:

    • Enter the total budget allocated for the project.
    • Specify the currency for the budget.
  • Revenue Budget:

    • Set the expected revenue targets.
    • Track profit margins for the project.
  • Hours Budget Type:

    • Total Project Hours (HH:MM): Specify the total hours available for the project.
    • Hours Per Task: Define hours for individual tasks.
    • Hours Per Staff: Allocate hours per team member.

5. Additional Settings

  • Custom Fields:

    • Add additional information specific to your project.
    • Configure tracking parameters as needed.
  • Team Assignment:

    • Select team members to assign them to the project.
    • Define roles and responsibilities for each member.
 
Once you've completed all the steps, click "Save" to create your project. The system will automatically set up the project structure and make it available for time tracking and task management.
